Today I am pleased to announce my daughter LIKES ME!! What a treat that is. We had so much fun! We had our appointment at the US Consulate to get our entry Visa for Isabella and SHE CAN COME HOME!! Not that we ever doubted it but it is always nice to see in her new passport. Also, we were really happy to hear that they will be a little less paperwork when we get home (and less fees) due to the Hague Treaty for adoptions being in place with both China and the US. Isabella and I even got applause along with Stacy and Keira for adopting 4 & 3 times. So many wonderful families adopting and it nice to see so many little ones FINALLY finding their homes.
After that we did our final stops and goodbyes to people who have been so kind and patient with the girls. The resturants where we eat, the stores we stopped by all have been so sweet with the girls that they call them their friends (in Chinese of course) While leaving one store it is so funny to watch Isabella because for some reason she thinks she must hail the cab!! Sticks her little arm out and waves for one like a pro. Both girls got afraid of men asking for $$ and Isabella tells them "NO" and well I'm not sure what else. After we got in the taxi, Isabella really clung to me and put her head on me and well I guess I think a little fear is a wonderful thing!! It broke the ice with her or many finally she was able to let me comfort her - whatever the reason I it was so good to have. We really did not stuggle with anything today.
What a wonderful way to end our time in China - breaking through with my daughter. While I know and appreciate that she still loves the Director her little heart is making room for me!! I just can't wait to share her with her family. There is so much for love about both girls!! Both so very different but yet such incredible gifts.
Looking back to the 1 1/2 weeks they have been with us, we can see their love growing for us. So wonderful to feel that after loving these girls for so long!!
Well I must get a couple of hours sleep before we leave in the morning to Hong Kong. We stay overnight and leave early on Sat for home. Sorry I don't have time to post pictures and will not be able to access the blog from the Hong Kong hotel. I do may best to post when we got home and let you know how the flights and the GRAND REUNION goes.
Thank you Lord for directing the path for us to the precious little girls!! I will forever be greatful!

March 11
Today we went to the zoo. Just can’t imagine Coty chooses not to go on any tours with us!! ANYWAYS, any day spent with Kelly the guide is a good day for the girls. Second best thing is riding the bus. Guess which one picks the front seat…….. The offical greeter Isabella. After walking around for about ½ or so we had about 1hr left to walk on our own. Isabella was soooo excited to look for monkeys that she could hardly look at anything else. The girls said they had never been to the zoo and this one had elephants, tigers, lions, hippos which are something I never see much of. They also have dogs which feels kinda funny. Well after the guide left us on our own, the girls got so sad. They no longer wanted to look at ANY animals and Isabella in fact covered her eyes. Did I mention she is strong willed? Well after a short sit with snacks we headed back to the bus to wait for the last hour. Isabella cried and cried, and Keira just got sad. Very hard to watch your child so sad and crying and not being able to comfort them. Thankfully the guide was back early and could talk with Isabella and even got her to say sorry and give me a hug. Think that was the second one I have received.
It seems like every morning they wake up missing the orphanage director and renew their quest to not like us. By evening they are so much better for us and we spend evenings laughing and playing with them. But then again every morning starts new again being sad/mad.
But while counting blessings today, top on my list is that my daughter sat on my lap. Yup, very big deal. It was not in order to play the computer but just because she wanted to. Ok, I fought the urge to rub her back but am thrilled that she sat on my lap. By the time it was bedtime, she finally gave me a kiss on the check and told ME she loved me. The other nights it was only to Stacy, Coty and Keira but tonight I got the first I love you said to me from this child who is so incredibly precious! Felt like my birthday!! Then at bedtime Isabella even put a arm on me!! Incredible !! I hated to get up and start our packing. Step by step she is she is starting let me in her world. More is coming I am sure but she has to make her way through her feelings in her time. No matter how hard I want it to happen, I will be patiently (ok, some time not so patiently) waiting for her heart to soften to me as she shows so much love to others.
Funny things from the girls today. While waiting for a taxi, I asked the guide to tell her that at home I will drive. The use mainly city buses, subway and taxis for their driving here and thought she would find it cool that I drove. She looked at the guide and asked “well then where is her car” YUP, packed it in my suitcase and took it to China !! Also they wondered when we get home, who will they follow. We always follow the guide places and how will we know where to go without a guide!! Also, they wondered if our new house has 10 floors (thinking like the hotel) Poor things, we only have 2 and that is if you include the basement!!
The pictures below are just a few of our evening. They get so much better happier with us in the evening than the mornings. The girls also have started to calm down and actually play with things. I just LOVE to see them play dolls. Judging by how they like to care for the little ones in our travel group, I’m sure they helped care and play with them at the orphanage.
Well got to get some more packing/shuffling done before bedtime. We leave Friday for Hong Kong. Then early Sat. for HOME. Starting to get nervous and excited. Praying for good plane rides for the girls especially on the long one from Japan to Detroit - we fly economy which actually means cargo.

March 10
Well, we are in the last few days of our stay and the girls are starting to get more comfortable with us and basically everything. They thought the hotel was their new home. Isabella continues to let me get close in very small doses. She does love her aunt more than me but that’s ok, she kinda a nice lady to love.
We found a book store to day and the girls went nuts!! They were missing school work! We got them loaded up and only gave them 2 - saving the rest for the plane ride and back home.
Isabella was so funny tonight at the restaurant. She was copying everything Stacy said and did down to clearing her throat and then laughed so hard she could hardly eat!! Some of the English words sound crazy to her so and she repeats them as she hear them - she is so goofy. She once again confused us at dinner telling the waitress that her mom was very hungry and she ordered 3 bowl of a bean soup on top of the meal we ordered. Now she tells them in Chinese and the waitresses all love to talk to the girls so the only way we find these things out is when food starts arriving that we did not order!! THEN she proceeded to eat all 3 bowls and was so full that she could hardly walk. Could not even jump down steps which she ALWAYS does!! Mental Note: Get card written out that says to not take any orders from these two girls - only get noodle soup for them - moms will not pay for any extras!!
Also, Isabella found the game room which is only open in the evenings. She has wanted to go very bad and so when Stacy & Keira were getting glasses, we checked the time and waited. She has a new watch and I could show her when they opened. She has a very hard time waiting and after about ½ hour - she showed me her watch and it showed that they were now open……. Only thing was I knew it would not be for another hour……. She changed it herself to show the time they opened thinking we could go in!! She could not even look me in the face when I asked her about it! Smart little girl!!
Zoo is planned for tomorrow and our guide is taking us to get glasses (frames) and also piano music!! Can’t wait I’m sure the girls will love it.
Sorry no pictures to post. Can’t imagine how few pictures we have!! Such a busy trip but I’ll have some tomorrow for sure including Keira in her new glasses. She can't wipe the smile from her face and just looks all around - wanted to sleep in the also AWWWWWW.

One week ago
Today we started out as usual with Isabella waking everyone up and getting things moving. She even claps her hands. We tried breakfast separate but while Keira was fine, Isabella would not eat. Eventually, after Stacy and Keira were done eating they moved over to sit with us and things went better. We did a tour today to White Cloud Mountain Park. BEAUTIFUL park. Dan, you would LOVE it. So many things in bloom and such unique plants. The girls fed the fish and well, were ready to get back on the bus. They LOVE to ride the big bus. The garden, well not so much but the bus ride is their treat. Also what makes EVERY tour for them wonderful is they get to talk with Kelly our guide along with the other families. Isabella is such a charmer.
One the way back we stopped at a McDonalds and the girls tried their very first “American” meal. Up to this point they will would not eat ANYTHING but Chinese food even with all the things on the breakfast buffet so this was a step to even try something different for them. Isabella loved it “better than noodle soup” she said but Keira, well she only ate the bun. Ice-cream cones were for desert. When we went to the counter Isabella ordered and the bill was just way too high. I checked and she had ordered 2 ice-cream cones, 2 sundaes and 2 shakes!! Tooo funny. We had our guide explain.
Stacy & Keira went to the eye hospital today. During the 3 ½hrs Keira spoke much more (Isabella not talking all the time) to Stacy and Kelly about life in the orphanage and school. They sure loved the Director at the orphanage but school was tough in many ways.
While Stacy and Keira were gone Isabella, Coty and I went to the park. Afterwards Isabella I played on the computer (PBSkids) back to the hotel. She loves it and will sit on my lap for such a long time. We also went for a walk and I showed her the pools. They are so beautiful but cold so no one was swimming. She seemed a little scared around the pools and told the staff she never swam in one. She would not hardly even touch the water. I was just very thankful that she would do things with me without her sidekick Keira.
We had a group dinner at our favorite restaurant where everyone knows the girls by name. They also know what they like to eat there - noodle soup. We thought it was ok when they ordered, usually it is just their soup and maybe a drink. Well little did we know they ordered much more than just soup this time!!! Here comes the food - noodles - steamed buns - dumpling like bun and expensive tea!! Too funny.
Another funny thing today was Keira wanted Hong Boa (red envelopes) from the store that are given with money in them for Chinese New year or special occasions. After Stacy paid, she let Keira have them because she was so excited. She was not sure what she was going to do with them because Keira LOVES money and she could not imagine her putting money in them to give them away. Well, Stacy watched at Keira ripped each one open LOOKING for the money!! Keira thought she was getting a windfall when she saw the envelopes in the store!!! Tooo funny!!
Today marks one week that we have had the girls. When I stand back I can see the progress. These two girls just wanted to go back to their hometown, to the only momma (the director) they knew. Now, while they still (mainly Isabella) miss the director they are starting to have fun with us. Isabella is learning so much english and is so full of love. She has such a huge personality. Keira is less talkative (only because Isabella says it all for her) but such a sweet, caring personality. Amazing when I think about how these girls lives have been turned upside down, and yet they stay strong and meet each day ready to go. I can’t imagine walking in their shoes and being so brave.
Thanking God daily for placing these girls in our lives. Sunny days are ahead!!

a few pictures for the day
We had a very busy day so I can only post a few pictures. Basically the attitudes the same.... but I was able to help her do her wash in the sink... that is a step ahead. She must of had to wash her own clothes in the sink. She really scrubs them and double checks the sleeve to make sure they are clean. Wrings the out and then hangs them on the tub. She brushes her teeth over the toilet. We tried to explain that its a moms job but for now, its more comfortable to do it her way. She is so proud when she is done, so independent.
Also figured out how to get them to take pictures with us.... have the other one take the pictures and then they will stand by us and even smile. TRICKS, that what have to do.

Just a couple more things......
Opps forgot to mention yesterday Isabella weighs 46lbs and is 47inch……. Or vise-versa can’t quite remember which is which. Keira is taller and weighs 51 lbs.
Also for anyone reading this blog that ever thinks a adopting a older child is too hard, let me tell you your wrong. This first 2 weeks is just a blip of time, the hard times will soon be forgot. There is no way to look in her eyes and not know that she is worth it all. In the 6 days she has been with us, the hurdles we have crossed together…… well there is nothing that I would not do for this brave little child. She is worth every ounce of energy and I can’t wait for the day when we can tease her about how she acted. While I pray for her heart to soften to me soon, she has so much love to give and I know it is a just a matter of time. Maybe not today, next week or next month it will come. God truly blessed me with this child and it will make the rewards all the sweeter when she does let me in. Ok, I want it now but will wait as long as it takes.

Another Day at the Funny Farm
These girls are CRAZY!! They have so much fun together. I never saw little girls laugh sooo hard at just about everything. Sometimes Isabella pulls the curtain around her while she is eating because otherwise she can’t eat - laughs to hard and start choking!!! Isabella loves to play store with us. Gets a pair of Stacys glasses on, gets as many supplies as she can and lines them up on the nightstand. They writes out slips of paper and talks with a crazy voice and basically charges me a arm and a leg which she find hilarious!! I pay her in pretend money (she holds it to the light like the shop keepers do around here) and then gives me some change!! We can’t stop laughing. She is just so funny!!
Today was the exam day for the girls. We knew they were going to get shots so before we left, we made the 7-11 run and got them both their own cans of “Cola“ WOOOOOOOOOW is what they said! The exam is a very light check of the girls before we can get their visa to come home. One part of the exam is checking eyes. We knew Keiras were bad but ooooh my, that poor girl can hardly see anything past the first line. Isabella of course, started telling her the answers and had to be told to stop. They then took Keira to a different room where the girls could not “cheat” Isabella told the guide that the teacher at school told the orphanage Keira needed glasses but they did not get them. After the test in the other room (without Isabella) Kelly told Stacy she would get her a appointment at the Eye Hospital to get glasses before we come home. That will be a help because it will be a while before Keira would be able to work with a American Dr. Poor thing, holds things about 5” from her face. She will certainly see a new world with them. Isabella takes such care of Keira, its unreal. While waiting at the exam stations, she has her arm around Keira and whispers to her. Isabella goes first and tells Keira what to do when it is her turn. When Keira has to get redressed, Isabella starts putting on her socks and shoes for her. A big step is that Isabella will “allow” Stacy to help. When it was time for the shots, I got some Kleenex out ready for tears. The two talked together and Isabella went first. What a tough cookie she is - just looked away and never shed a tear!! I started to cry, she did not. They are such tough for little girls. When it was Keiras turn, Isabella pulled Keira sleeve up, sat behind her and but arms around her and was all the comfort she needed - no tears for her either. Just me!! Out we went and they started digging in their bags for the pop.
Later on we needed to do paperwork to get the girls into America. It takes about 1 hour and the girls were very good, quietly playing till we were done. Well that is about all the
sit the girls have in them and so we went for a walk and they were sooo wild. We finally got take-out (restaurants would thank us) and gave them a bath. BIG step was that I was “allowed” to help Isabella. Keira has let Stacy help from the beginning but Isabella would not allow me to help. THANK YOU LORD for this little step today. Sounds like such a little thing but it is really a break through for her. Day by Day she is letting me in just a little at a time. Just amazing when we think about we have had the girls only 5 days. While I would have loved to be getting hugs and kisses by now, I am thrilled that I got to wash her hair and was also able to lift her up so she could see over a counter.
Coty continues to have fun making Isabella repeat things and she is learning so many words. She is very quick to learn things like phone numbers and our room safe number. We have to really guard that because I’m sure she would unlock it, take the stash and hop the first bus back to her hometown. They continue to share everything - clothes, nightees, toys, food, drinks, coats - we will have to switch everything back when we get home.
There have been so many wonderful people placed in our path to help on his trip. Our guide Kelly, restaurant waitress that help so much with the girls (and whom the girls just love) and the other adopting families. They have so much love to give!
Thankful for each day with these little girls and counting the days till we come home and introduce these two little girls to their families!!

This is how we have to "unhook" them at bedtime

Today was the exam day for the girls. We knew they were going to get shots so before we left, we made the 7-11 run and got them both their own cans of “Cola“ WOOOOOOOOOW is what they said! The exam is a very light check of the girls before we can get their visa to come home. One part of the exam is checking eyes. We knew Keiras were bad but ooooh my, that poor girl can hardly see anything past the first line. Isabella of course, started telling her the answers and had to be told to stop. They then took Keira to a different room where the girls could not “cheat” Isabella told the guide that the teacher at school told the orphanage Keira needed glasses but they did not get them. After the test in the other room (without Isabella) Kelly told Stacy she would get her a appointment at the Eye Hospital to get glasses before we come home. That will be a help because it will be a while before Keira would be able to work with a American Dr. Poor thing, holds things about 5” from her face. She will certainly see a new world with them. Isabella takes such care of Keira, its unreal. While waiting at the exam stations, she has her arm around Keira and whispers to her. Isabella goes first and tells Keira what to do when it is her turn. When Keira has to get redressed, Isabella starts putting on her socks and shoes for her. A big step is that Isabella will “allow” Stacy to help. When it was time for the shots, I got some Kleenex out ready for tears. The two talked together and Isabella went first. What a tough cookie she is - just looked away and never shed a tear!! I started to cry, she did not. They are such tough for little girls. When it was Keiras turn, Isabella pulled Keira sleeve up, sat behind her and but arms around her and was all the comfort she needed - no tears for her either. Just me!! Out we went and they started digging in their bags for the pop.
Later on we needed to do paperwork to get the girls into America. It takes about 1 hour and the girls were very good, quietly playing till we were done. Well that is about all the
sit the girls have in them and so we went for a walk and they were sooo wild. We finally got take-out (restaurants would thank us) and gave them a bath. BIG step was that I was “allowed” to help Isabella. Keira has let Stacy help from the beginning but Isabella would not allow me to help. THANK YOU LORD for this little step today. Sounds like such a little thing but it is really a break through for her. Day by Day she is letting me in just a little at a time. Just amazing when we think about we have had the girls only 5 days. While I would have loved to be getting hugs and kisses by now, I am thrilled that I got to wash her hair and was also able to lift her up so she could see over a counter.
Coty continues to have fun making Isabella repeat things and she is learning so many words. She is very quick to learn things like phone numbers and our room safe number. We have to really guard that because I’m sure she would unlock it, take the stash and hop the first bus back to her hometown. They continue to share everything - clothes, nightees, toys, food, drinks, coats - we will have to switch everything back when we get home.
There have been so many wonderful people placed in our path to help on his trip. Our guide Kelly, restaurant waitress that help so much with the girls (and whom the girls just love) and the other adopting families. They have so much love to give!
Thankful for each day with these little girls and counting the days till we come home and introduce these two little girls to their families!!

Another Day, Another Little Step
March 6,
Last night was the first night we did not have to fight to get the girls to separate at bed time. They first try to get in Keiras bed and then when I take Isabella to her bed (she chooses the floor) then Keira runs into sleep with Isabella. BUT like I said last night they both went to their bed alone and without a fight. We went to the pearl market today and I was able to find a nice necklace for you Tori!! We then went to the porcelain factory and after about 5 steps in the door, Isabella stopped and BUSHEE….. And what kid at 7 would like to go in a DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING store!! She was very patient and mopped the whole time. After we left she was so disobedient again but listens instantly to the guide, clerk and anyone else I tattle to. When we got back the guide spoke with her about obeying something clicked and she started to actually play with me. We made some crank phone calls to the Knoper room (which is adjoining), we played store and she over charged me and basically laughed the day away. We had such a wonderful night. We even spent about 20 minutes apart which is a huge thing for these girls. They are started to trust us, piece by piece. Starting to feel their way around, know where they “live” and names of places we go. They just LOVE our guide Kelly (who really deserves their love) she has been so good with the girls and also her sister Judy. Each time we have been blessed with guides that were perfect for our adoption trips and Kelly, well Great Wall really gave us the perfect guide to help these little girls find their way.
Coty is still such a gift to have on this trip. Not only is he helpful to us but he is the best toy the girls could ever ask for. He makes Isabella laugh so hard she can’t even walk - ok and even spit out her yogurt (sorry hotel). I don’t know if I have ever met such a giggly little girl. The only time she is not sparking conversation with someone or laughing or making silly jokes is when she is separated from Keira… like 3 seats on a bus ride, or 10 steps away We are however slowing working on just a little more distance everyday.
Couple of funny things about the girls. They asked to order wine at dinner!! Another time they took their water glasses and “clinked” them together and twisted their arms around to drink it. WHERE in the WORLD would they ever see that!! We were also told by the guide that they have very good taste in food. They love pop, candy, and ONLY Chinese food. Will not even try a piece of pizza or french fry. Hmmm, already wondering if there is a Chinese resturant around that is able to make real Chinese food that they will like…. At least until they get used to American food.
Isabella is already learning so many words. She can sing all the songs on a little toy radio Stacy brought, she says hello and goodbye rather than NiHao and Sigen (goodbye in Chinese- no idea how to spell that) and copies so many of things we say. She is learning her name, Isabella and when she says it we just can’t stop laughing. For some reason the “bella” part is very hard for a Chinese person to say and it sounds so nasal. Toooo FUNNY!! Coty also is enjoying the part that she will say ANYTHING he asks her to…. Like “I am a stinker, I am smelly, I am cranky” and the list goes on. She shares in the laughs and I can’t even tell you how much fun she is!! She is also so smart. She writes notes to us in Chinese and to other families, can read so many signs and already know 2 languages while working on English as well - what a sharp little girl. She give Coty, Stacy and her best friend Keira a hug and kiss at night… still will not let me even blow her a kiss but I’ll wait.
We have a long road ahead of us yet but this little girl is such a gift. To see her on the floor laughing, walking funny with Coty, playing pretend games, sparking up conversation with anyone she meets, looking into my eyes when I try to tell her something, well I can’t imagine her not getting a chance to fully enjoy all that a family and life has to offer. She is a challenge, but I am already feeling the rewards of being her mom. I have been truly blessed, beyond words.
Tomorrow they go for their physical in order to get into America. Poor girls will have to have 4 immunization shots. We had the guide explain it to them today and that it is not our fault. Isabella said “oh, is it so we can go to American? Too funny. She also said she will just look away and told Keira to remember that and look away also. It will be very hard because I don’t think Isabella will let me comfort her at all when she gets the shots and I bet Keira won’t let Stacy either. So hard to watch them two so sad and not be able to hug them. We did however promise to give them a can of pop (I know, I know very bad) after they were done and they were sooo excited. Told everyone we met about the shots and pop.
Well got to go for now, 9:30 and its bed -time. BOY can a day in China wear you out!!
Thanking the Lord today for letting me get a piece of Isabella’s heart. Small piece, but I’ll take what I can get.

Ps. People are soooo glad when we leave the restaurants…… Keira is soooo loud and these girls have manner to learn ie. Not shoving their mouth full of food, not calling across to the restaurant to the waiters to bring them another round of soup and well, they sneak things. Just found out Cotys fingernail clipper is missing….. The girls have been eyeing that and found their chance tonight to snatch it…. Both went in the bathroom - CLICK went the lock - whisper (in Hakka) whisper, whisper - Keira running out to their bathroom - CLICK went the lock - Stepped out with a big smile on her face. Hmmmm, now where would Cotys clipper be!!!!

BRING ON THE RAIN
Today started out the same, getting told its TIME TO GET OUT OF BED by Isabella. Keira, already being a Knoper was still sleeping peacefully along with Stacy and was told very firmly (and very loudly) by Isabella to get up!! Oooohhhhh Isabella will fit right in with most of the Prins Fam - up early and ready to go. Did I tell you how precious this little girl is?? I bet 90% of the day she is smiling, laughing, calling every man “shu-shu” (for uncle) and sparking up conversation with everyone. VERY SOCIAL. After “tea-time with Kelly” where she informs Isabella she must listen to her mother, sit by her mother, not give her mother the mean looks - she started to behave more to me. Little blessings-----I’ll take them. THEN after starting up the computer low and behold, she came by to watch. I told her she could only play if she sat on my lap because there were no other chairs around--heheheh and SHE DID. I have to tell you that was the first time she EVER sat on my lap let alone near me. Sooooo good! We also started making crank calls to the Knopers. I pity the people in the room next to us (actually the next rooms 10) because after plugging our nose and saying “NiHao, this is AYI (aunty) she laughed WITH me (not AT me) non-stop!! She was actually having fun with me and touching me and well, can I tell you I waited a long time for that. After about 1 hour(says Coty) we finally had to unplug the phone so they “stopped working“. They had so much fun pretending they/we were cows, and pigs and daddys, when they called each other.
After playing in the room, we went out for supper to Lucys. Its near the hotel, serves American food and also have a incredible staff that really talk with the girls and get them full for each meal. They are shoving soooo much food down right now (and hiding it in the hotel room) I’m sure that will change after a while. BUT the best news is that it started to rain, actually POUR out and we had no umbrella. Well, did I tell you what a incredible son I have? He actually came and found us at the restaurant (funny how he would rather not eat with us - hmmm) and brought us 2 umbrellas that he went out and bought!! Now gathering by the reaction of the girls, they were never able to play in the rain and running in the rain, under umbrellas was just incredibly fun!! Isabella had her arm around me, we snuggled under the umbrella, laughed and she let me carry her over the puddles. I pretended to be exhausted and she just laughed and laughed. Probably also the first time that she and Keira were over 10’ from each other….. All I can say is

Also some things about Keira. She is so sharing. She gets toys, money or KLEENEX (VERY important to her) and passes them out to everyone. She has a special little 4yr girl in our group and loves to give her everything….. Candy, toys, etc. She pulls all our chairs out at lunch, loves to clean up the room and holds Stacys hand where ever they go. She lets Stacy take care of her so much more than the independent Isabella. She has a VERY kind and sharing heart…. And well is incredibly loud!! We just laugh because I’m sure she is going to scare her sisters.
These little girls share EVERYTHING and really never fight. When its time to get dressed they go through each others clothes and just mix and match. NOPE, none of the stuff we brought OR none of the stuff that matches but they think they look wonderful and well, that’s all that matter for now. They start off their day with Pony-tails in the back of their heads….. Many clips in their hair and a headband. By the time breakfast is done, all that is left is the ponytail and maybe a headband. These little girls are more tom-boys than frilly girls. We let them pick out 2 outfits and one pair of shoes and well, lets just say we sure would pick out other items. We show them the really cute clothes…. That match and they say “BUSHEEE” - translation Not a Chance!! They now have 3 outfits that we just keep washing. Under their clothes EVERYDAY they wear their nightees. Not sure why but that is how they came to us and they continue to dress that way.
When they get something new, or with the toys we brought from home - they go through it together and just pass it back and forth. I would have expected that they would really treasure the things they get but it is more like communal property to them. It is very nice to see such sharing.
They continue to keep each other in their eye sight but we are able to walk a little bit more apart each day. They are so protective of each other and even when one girl is watching their family on SKYPE the other is very threatened and either pulls her away or hit’s the computer screen. When one needs to be told no to something, the other is right their scolding the momma and then the two whisper in each others ears something - we are thinking its THEIR ESCAPE PLANS!! The two love to attack Coty, raid the fridge and even say the same thing at the same time!!
Isabella is such a loving, happy, smart, determined little girl. She give hugs, blows kisses and is also a second away from a laugh. Sometime soon I’m sure that she will give me some of that also but for now I am so thankful she is such a loving, happy, fun loving little girl.
Well, got to go for now. Everyday is a busy day and I can’t believe at 9:15 I am exhausted and ready for bed.

Ps. Thank you Carolyn for treating my family such a wonderful meal & all the treats!! Also on the teeth issue, I think I will certainly need your advice.

The room next door!
The knoper room is quiet now... But is sure is a party during the day. These two girls love each other so much! This is night two of them sleeping in their own beds and rooms. Even with the adjoining room door open, they still call out each others name just to make sure they are still there. GOODNIGHT!!P.S. Kristi... no locks of love just yet but you Will notice my hair IS tied back on all the rest of the pictures from the trip ;)
Still March 4.... I think
We had our police station appointment in the afternoon in order to get the girls passports. The girls were so nervous. Poor Keira kept wringing her hands and Isabella…. Well she stayed by me without being told!! They told the guide the other day they were scared of the doorman at the hotel…. Thought he was a policeman. So the guide said “no, he is more like a uncle” and NOW Isabella EVERYTIME we walk in the doors starts smiling and tells the doorman “hello Shoe, Shoe” which is Uncle. She has such a BIG love of fun!! She continues to be a “tough cookie to crack” but I did get my first kinda hug at night. That was really the first time that she would even let me touch her so even though it was not truly heart felt….. Well I will take it - it’s a start. They have so much to learn. When they were asked what they like to do for fun, it was cleaning the floor and washing windows. Isabella was very angry at me today because she wanted to wash her clothes and I told her it was my job. So very independent for such a little girl. I am posting some more pictures showing the Keira laughing so hard at Coty and Isabella eating with Chopsticks …. SOUP!! I haven’t taken too many pictures this trip (Stacy only took 6 this whole trip) because the girls require a lot watching and hand holding - much busier trip than we ever had. We have a very kind and caring guide name Kelly who has spent sometime each day speaking with the girls - we are calling it "Teatime with Kelly". We get to tattle on the girls and they get to tattle on us :-) She is so good helping with some behavior issues and the girls can tell us though her what their fears, concerns or questions are. These little ones have been though such huge changes in the last days and have so many concerns and questions about what is going on . I'm not sure how prepared they were or even you can prepare a little one on what it will be like to leave the only home they knew and go live with complete strangers who can't even understand most of what they are saying....... Very thankful for such a wonderful guide.
Thank you Marcia, Shelia, Kristi and Marcy for your comments/emails and everyone’s prayers! I needed to hear them. I also got a perfect daily devotional about PEACE. …. Just what I needed to read when I needed it.
Thanking God today many things.....my Family, friends and this little precious girl that is loved beyond words. Also I'm blessed to have such a incredible son to help on this trip and a sister who can always put things in perspective for me (along with drying my tears)

Day by Day
March 4, Thursday
Well today seems to be a much better Day for Fu Yan (Thank you Lord) BUT Fu Xiang, well can we say STRONG WILL?? She will only hold my hand because she has been informed you MUST by the guide, she mimics what I say…. Not in a nice way, she would like to move her stuff to the Knoper room… well the list can go on. BUT I’m sure she feels she still has a Dapu mom so I think she is fighting to lose that one to get a new one. At least she like Coty which only makes me know it was TOTALLY the right decision to bring him. We have learned a lot from what they are saying and thinking from the guide. The girls have such a tight pack together and Fu Xiang will just have to learn, in time to let go a little and take us in. Little does she know that she has a mom with a much STRONGER will that even though it hurts it does not change that I KNOW she is our daughter and will eventually feel it too. BOY when I thought it was a tough first few days with a baby, little did I know that was a piece of cake compaired to such a beautiful, funny, smart 7yr old.
Praying for strength and a softening heart for Fu Xiang.
